Welcome!

The purpose of this blog will be to chronicle my (hopefully brief) change from a full-time Sales Manager working 50 hours a week, to a full-time home maker and stay at home dad.

Let me say that I have always been an active father in our 3 children's lives, but always in the role of 'disciplinarian' (wait until your father gets home!) or 'fungi to hang out with' (get it?) My wife of 7 years, Ash will tell you as much. However, I've made more than my fair share of mistakes, both as a husband and as a father.

It will be interesting to see what direction this blog heads in the days to come. I plan on utilizing unique ways many of the recently out of work men can maximize their 'temporary' time at home with the kids while they look for new work. This will include practical examples of extreme cost cutting, through gouging the budget, making certain products from scratch, etc..

Now I don't claim to be an expert in any areas mentioned above. I will be learning as we go, taking any advice and input along the way. I plan on posting my 'biography' as it were, later today, so you can get to know me. But for now, it's almost 5am and after wrestling (almost literally) our 21 month old to sleep for the past 2 hours, I'm going to try and catch some shut-eye before the older two children get up for school.
